On the Windows platform, start the GlobalMentor Reader by selecting Start|Programs|GlobalMentor|GlobalMentor Reader from the task bar.
Open a downloaded eBook by going to File|Open... and finding the eBook file, which should end in either .oebzip or .zip. (There is no need to unzip the file.) You may change pages by pressing the left and right hand icons on the toolbar.
During installation the GlobalMentor Reader associated itself with OEB Zip files, allowing you to launch the software directly by activating any OEB Zip file (.oebzip) on supported platforms.
GlobalMentor Reader is also able to read the following file formats:
- OEB package files (extension
.opf, MIME type application/x-oeb1-package+xml)
- OEB document files (extension
.html or .htm, MIME type text/x-oeb1-document)
- OEB Zip files (extension
.oebzip or .zip, MIME type application/x-oeb1-package+xml+zip) which contain an OEB package and all related documents
Support for epub books are expected in a future version.
